The European Chafer Beetle is a new pest that was introduced to the Vancouver area around 2001. It was first found in New Westminster and has been slowly moving West every year. The beetle is in a juicy grub stage just below the surface of your lawn, which are brought to the surface by hungry raccoons.

The Vancouver Chafer Control website was designed around simple, effective visuals that instantly demonstrate lawn damage and the involvement of local raccoons. Due to a lack of public knowledge about the Chafer Beetle, and subsequently the reason for extensive lawn damage, the website provides an informational video and corresponding links to help educate homeowners and provide possible solutions.
